U.S. Bank’s Merchant Payment Services team is seeking a Regional Account Executive to drive new merchant relationships, cultivate referral partnerships, and grow market share in your territory.
This hybrid outside sales role emphasizes prospecting, networking, and consultative solution selling to retailers, restaurants, healthcare, and more. You will source at least half your pipeline, travel as needed, and collaborate with FI referral partners to identify opportunities and close deals.
At U.S. Bank, we’re on a journey to do our best. Helping the customers and businesses we serve to make better and smarter financial decisions, enabling the communities we support to grow and succeed in the right ways, all more confidently and more often—that’s what we call the courage to thrive. We believe it takes all of us to bring our shared ambition to life, and each person is unique in their potential. A career with U.S. Bank gives you a wide, ever-growing range of opportunities to discover what makes you thrive. Try new things, learn new skills and discover what you excel at—all from Day One.
As a Regional Account Executive within the Merchant Payment Services (MPS) division, you will serve as a highly motivated outside sales professional responsible for acquiring new merchant clients, developing strategic relationships, and growing market share within your assigned territory. This is a true hybrid role, requiring an individual who not only thrives on creating opportunities, prospecting for new business, and building a pipeline through persistent business development efforts, but also possesses a skill set to cultivate referral partnerships for maximum results. The Account Executive will approach the territory like an entrepreneur—building a business, creating a personal market presence, and taking ownership of results while simultaneously placing a keen focus on assigned referral partners to balance activity and production. The role offers the freedom to pursue opportunities across retail, restaurant, healthcare, public sector, and service-based businesses, develop trusted relationships with local owners and decision-makers, and generate momentum through cold calling, networking, community involvement, referrals, strategic partnerships, and direct in-market engagement. Running parallel will be the responsibility to engage and advance contracted referral relationships for strategic account identification and pursuit. While half the pipeline will be self-sourced, consultants are supported by the strength, credibility, and resources of assigned financial institution (FI) referral partnerships, creating additional opportunities to identify needs, introduce broader solutions, and win business. The ideal candidate combines a hunter’s mindset with a consultant’s approach, pairing a relentless pursuit of new business with the ability to understand partner needs and deliver tailored payment solutions that help clients grow.
Elavon is making significant investments in the growth of our sales organization and expanding our presence across select U.S. regions. What differentiates us is the ability to combine an entrepreneurial outside sales opportunity with referral-based partnership opportunities. You will have the opportunity to build your own book of business while using the power of financial institution partners to engage interested merchants, uncover needs, and accelerate growth.
