SCIS is seeking an experienced HR Manager to support our region by driving effective people processes, ensuring compliance, and strengthening workforce engagement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversees local HR operations and ensures consistent application of company policies
- Supports leaders with guidance on HR best practices, employee relations, and performance management
- Leads recruiting and staffing efforts, manages candidate pipelines, and coordinates onboarding
- Advises management on retention strategies and helps develop improvement plans
- Ensures compliance w/ employment laws, regulatory requirements, and company standards
- Audits HR practices and personnel files to maintain accuracy and alignment w/ policy
- Keeps managers informed of HR updates/regulatory changes/key initiatives
- Administers employee benefits and manages status changes, leave cases, and related updates
- Oversees workers' compensation activity and OSHA reporting
- Manages employee separations and supports compliance-related hearings
- Partners w/corporate HR to implement companywide initiatives and support all HR functions
- Conducts or assists with employee-related investigations and ensures timely resolution
- Provides guidance on workplace issues, supports supervisors in managing performance, and delivers training
- Participates in other HR tasks per business objectives
What You Bring:
- Ability to acquire and maintain required DOD security clearance
- Strong knowledge of HR operations, employment laws, and compliance requirements
- Experience leading recruiting, staffing, and onboarding processes.
- Ability to advise and support managers on employee relations, performance, and retention
- Skill in conducting investigations and handling sensitive workplace matters
- Proficiency with HR systems, payroll processes, and accurate records management
- Experience administering benefits, managing leave cases, and supporting workers' compensation.
- Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to partner across all levels
- High level of discretion, sound judgment, and ability to manage confidential information
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain efficient, compliant HR practices
