Job summary

Oregon Department of Transportation in Bend seeks a Region 4 Manager to lead planning, delivery, and operations of state transportation facilities across Central Oregon. You will oversee a large regional team and coordinate with multiple branches and local governments to set priorities and advance capital projects.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and experience managing large programs; hybrid work options are available based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Seven years of management experience in transportation infrastructure development and project delivery.
• OR Four years of management experience in transportation infrastructure development and project delivery and a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for statewide programs and all region employees.
• Work with internal and external partners to develop and implement short and long term transportation plans and plans for emergency events.
• Direct plan development, program development, program management, project design, construction contracts, maintenance and operations.
• Oversee personal services, projects, budgets and spending.
• Monitor maintenance and operations conditions, ongoing construction projects and connect with crews through routine tours.
• Manage project delivery for capital improvement and other projects.
• Coordinate with local governments, the public, state representatives and the media to gather information and set priorities.
• Guide the region’s management team and oversee personnel actions, performance management and budget administration.
• Represent the region at meetings, respond to questions or concerns, and communicate with internal and external partners.
