Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh is seeking Early Childhood Educators to join the Cyert Center, a full-day program serving CMU families. You will educate and care for young children, support the center's philosophy, and help create an inquiry-based curriculum.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff and families, adherence to licensing and NAEYC accreditation standards, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, psychology, elementary education, special education, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 30 credit hours in ECE/related and 1 year of experience with children; OR associate’s degree plus 2 years experience; OR associate’s degree with 30 credits in ECE/related and 3 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Educating and caring for young children, encouraging their growth and development.
• Organizing a cohesive program and communicating the Center’s philosophy (Reggio Emilia Approach and Developmentally Appropriate Practice).
• Assisting in creating a curriculum using inquiry-based teaching strategies with collaborative learning.
• Adhering to licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
• Developing regular two-way communication with parents about children’s experiences and learning.
• Participating in planning, organization, and parent meetings.
