Job summary

American Farmland Trust in Fort Collins, Colorado, seeks a Colorado Grazing Specialist to lead on-the-ground grazing program development along the Front Range, engaging ranchers and land stewards to increase regenerative grazing adoption and resilience.

You will support the Resilient Grazing Network, coordinate mentors, deliver peer-learning opportunities, collect ecological data, and build partnerships with universities, cooperatives, and agencies while working remotely from a home office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in agriculture, rangeland management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with agricultural producers.
• Experience in grazing systems, conservation or outreach programs.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with ranchers and land stewards to understand local needs and encourage adoption of regenerative grazing practices.
• Lead local implementation and growth of the Resilient Grazing Network, including mentors and program delivery.
• Provide ongoing program support to mentors, including tools, training, and coordination.
• Recruit land stewards for mentorship opportunities and trainings.
• Organize mentor trainings and adapt curriculum to Colorado Front Range contexts.
• Provide technical assistance and resource navigation to producers transitioning to regenerative practices.
