Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, the Registered Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care therapy and manages supportive equipment according to departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with pulmonary disorders across various settings, following physician prescriptions.
• Perform evaluations, monitoring, and education related to respiratory therapy.
• Analyze and interpret data from physiological specimens, conduct diagnostic tests, and participate in research related to cardiopulmonary health.
• Administer and monitor medical gases, mechanical ventilation, artificial airway care, and related therapies.
• Apply scientific principles to prevent, identify, and treat cardiopulmonary dysfunction.
• Set up and operate respiratory equipment, document procedures and patient responses in EPIC, and participate in emergency responses.
• Oversee clinical performance of technicians, ensure equipment maintenance, and adhere to infection control policies.
• Modify care based on patient needs, communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, and perform physical tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program with an associate degree.
• Possess NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner License and NJ Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate.
• Hold AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Preferred Certifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
