Job summary

St. Bernards Healthcare in Jonesboro, AR is seeking a diagnostic medical sonographer under radiologist supervision to perform ultrasound procedures. An associate degree in an allied health field and registry eligibility are required.

Two years of experience preferred; candidate must meet registry requirements and be able to operate ultrasound equipment, PACS, and related systems. Normal hospital environment with typical safety practices applies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate degree in an allied health field required.
• Two years experience preferred. Sufficient working knowledge of the different phases of ultrasound including the operation of assigned equipment.
• Associates degree in an Allied Health field or certificate of completion of coursework and graduate within six months with degree plan. Candidates must meet requirement for registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a radiologist and the supervision of the department manager/PSM, performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative.

• Minimum of an Associate degree in an allied health field required. Candidate must meet requirements for registry by the Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
• Experience
• Two years experience preferred. Sufficient working knowledge of the different phases of ultrasound including the operation of assigned equipment. Associates degree in an Allied Health field or certificate of completion of coursework and graduate within six months with degree plan. Candidates must meet requirement for registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonongraphers.
• Physical
• Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing within normal range. Occasional exposure to chemical hazards. Operates ultrasound machine, computer, patient monitoring, PACS, and CR’s when applicable. Continuous standing and walking, frequent bending and stooping, Lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 300lbs.
