Job summary

Fisher-Titus invites applications for a Cardiac Ultrasound Sonographer. The role performs comprehensive ultrasound studies across the patient population served by the Hospital, ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include real-time imaging, color flow mapping, Doppler and transesophageal exams, with direct communication to interpreting cardiologists. CPR certification and an allied health education are required.

• Associates or better in Health Services Administration.
• Certification CPR

• Performs complete cardiac ultrasound studies including REAL TIME, 2D-M-MODE, COLOR FLOW MAPPING, DOPPLER, trans-esophageal, Stress Echo.
• Obtains permanent records of examination.
• Communicates findings with cardiologist and documents in sonographer worksheet.
• Maintains timely daily report workflows and records.
• Follows safety protocols and infection control procedures.

General Summary:

To perform cardiac ultrasound procedures of a professional level on all patient population serviced by the Hospital. Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient.

Essential Functions:

• Performs complete study including REAL TIME, 2D- M-MODE, COLOR FLOW MAPPING, DOPPLER,trans-esophageal, Stress Echo.
• Obtains permanent records of examination.
• Contributes professional knowledge via sonographer worksheet and verbal communication with cardiologist.
• Daily Record of Report Timeliness.
• Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job related hazards.
• Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
• Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
• Prepares patients for examination and explains procedure to patients while performing studies.
• Correlates clinical history with the test to be performed.
• Maintains work area.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
