Job description

This job offers a $250 bonus after 6 months and $1000 after 12 months of employment. Sunshine Disposal & Recycling is hiring a full-time Refuse Service Truck Driver in Addy, WA. Key duties include operating front load, side load, and roll-off trucks in residential and commercial areas. Basic computer skills are required, with on-the-job training provided for industry-specific software. A Class A or B CDL, Air Brake Certificate, and valid DOT medical card are mandatory. Applicants must meet insurability criteria and comply with US DOT drug screening rules. A minimum of two years of CDL driving experience is required.

This is a full-time, day shift position (currently Monday-Friday), starting at 4:00 am. The starting pay rate is $26.00/hour, with 50-cent increases at 6, 12, and 18 months, plus annual COLA adjustments. Essential duties include:

1. Timely arrival, receiving route paperwork and tablet data, performing pre-trip inspections, and starting routes if the truck is operational.
2. Driving the truck along fixed routes, collecting refuse, recycling, or organics, and loading extra waste as needed. Documenting route details via tablet or paper.
3. Effective communication with the office and other drivers regarding routes and customer issues.
4. Ending the day by dumping the truck and cleaning the truck body and cab.
5. Conducting post-trip inspections and reporting maintenance needs.
6. Attending required training and meetings.
7. Performing other assigned duties.

Requirements include:

• Class A or B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement.
• USDOT Medical Certificate.
• Meeting insurance carrier driving record requirements.
• Adherence to USDOT/FMCSA drug and alcohol testing rules.

Physical abilities required:

• Regularly (5+ hours/day): sit, stand, see, hear, walk, reach, grasp, manipulate, operate foot controls.
• Frequently (3-4 hours/day): climb, bend, pull/push.
• Occasionally (1-2 hours/day): lift up to 60 pounds, crawl, stoop, crouch, twist.
• Visual ability to see 20+ feet, with or without correction, and differentiate colors.
