The City of Warrenton is seeking a reliable Refuse Collector to operate a refuse truck on assigned routes, load and unload containers, and perform routine vehicle maintenance. This position may require weekend and holiday work and some utility tasks after refuse duties are completed.

You will work under the supervision of the Operations Manager and the Refuse Collector II, contributing to street, water, sewer, drainage, and public property maintenance as needed.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in operation of commercial trucks.
• Valid class B CDL with air brake endorsement.

Mansioni

• Operate a refuse collection truck on predetermined routes.
• Deliver and remove collection containers.
• Perform maintenance on motor vehicles and power equipment.
• Assist with utility work on streets, water, sewer, drainage and public properties and buildings after daily refuse tasks are complete.

Some weekend and holiday work is required. Performs duties of a utility worker on streets, water, sewer, drainage and public properties and buildings once daily refuse tasks are complete.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience in operation of commercial trucks
• Possession of a valid class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement
• Able to create and maintain positive working relationships with other staff
