City of Oakland Park seeks a skilled operator for refuse and recycling collection vehicles. The role requires safe operation of heavy equipment, adherence to routes, and courteous service to commercial and residential customers.
Responsibilities include lifting loads, reporting equipment issues, and minor repairs while following city policies. A Florida Class B license with air brake endorsement is required, with six months of experience preferred.
Employees in this classification perform skilled work in the operation of commercial/residentialrefuse and recycling vehicles and equipment. An employee in this class is responsible for thesafe and efficient operation of equipment that requires specialized training. Assignments mayinvolve the completion of established routes as determined by management, or work orders forspecial collection activities. Work hours depending upon the type of collection activity mayrequire tasks basis work and involve various start times and shifts. Work is subject to inspectionfor efficiency, quality of operation, and adherence to departmental policies. Work is performedunderthe supervisionof theSolid WasteCrew LeaderorForeman.
