Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Employment Specialist to help refugees and other qualified immigrants attain self-sufficiency through employment. You will guide clients through employment preparation, coordinate job placements, and deliver career advancement services.

Responsibilities include assessments, career planning, job readiness coaching, resume and interview support, and building employer networks to identify opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in workforce development or refugee services preferred.
• Fluency in English; other languages helpful for IRC clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct employability assessments and program orientation for eligible clients.
• Develop employment and career development plans and budget strategies.
• Provide job readiness coaching, resume help, and interview practice.
• Build relationships with area employers and staffing agencies to identify opportunities.
• Assist clients with networking, post-placement support, and ongoing career advancement.
