Job summary

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group company, is seeking a Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor at our Gibbon, NE plant to lead the maintenance of refrigeration systems, boilers and air make-up units.

You will develop strong employee relations, coach a skilled team, ensure Food Safety and SQF compliance, and drive cost reductions while minimizing downtime. This role offers growth within a privately held, long‑standing beef processing company.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• PLC background with Allen Bradley Programming - minimum of 2 years preferred.
• Process SafetyManagement (PSM) background including maintaining proper documentation - minimum of 2 years preferred.
• Ammonia Refrigeration background.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all mechanical aspects of refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors, and building maintenance.
• Develop and maintain effective employee relations.
• Professional team building: Encourage teamwork and learning; maintain professional attitude and neat shop.
• Monitor the cleanliness of the shop work area and ensure policies are followed.
• Ensure all Food Safety, SQF, and Safety policies are followed; PPE compliance.
• Ability to work autonomously and provide direction to maintenance staff.
• Maintain minimal production downtime and implement solutions to reduce downtime.
• Schedule preventative maintenance and support continuous improvements and cost reduction.
• Account for tools and equipment distributed daily; perform other duties as assigned.

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor at our Gibbon, NE plant.

As our Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor, you will:

• Work closely with plant engineer while overseeing all mechanical aspects of refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors, air make-up units, and building maintenance.
• Develop and maintain effective employee relations.
• Professional team building:
  • Encourage teamwork and learning.
  • Maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the shop work area.
  • Ensure all Food Safety, SQF, and Safety policies are followed.
  • Making sure all employees are wearing proper PPE specific to their job areas.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Provide work direction to maintenance assistants or helpers.
• Maintain minimal production down time and solutions to reduce downtime.
• Schedule preventative maintenance.
• Support continuous improvements.
• Support cost reduction.
• Account for tools, utensils and other potentially dangerous equipment that are distributed on a daily basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
