Job summary

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is seeking a QA Tech - Harvest for its Gibbon, Nebraska plant. The role emphasizes in-process audits, harvest monitoring, and strict adherence to SQF, GMP, HACCP, and safety policies while ensuring PPE compliance and clean equipment.

You will report issues to supervision, coordinate with maintenance, and help maintain a safe, efficient production area. Prior QA experience is preferred; training will be provided for required certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must communicate in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Must work in varied temperatures with PPE in production areas.
• Ability to perform duties with or without accommodations.
• Ability to work extended hours Monday–Saturday with overtime.
• Overtime may be required as needed.
• Start times vary based on production needs.
• Must complete Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and Food Defense training.

• Verify employees wear PPE appropriate to their job areas.
• Maintain active Food Defense surveillance inside the facility.

Overview

Gibbon Packing, LLC , an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a QA Tech - Harvest at our Gibbon, NE plant.

Job Responsibilities

• Complete In-Process Audits
• Complete extra audits where needed
• Complete Harvest Monitoring Sponges
• Check hand and knife chlorine spray system for slaughter
• Watch and check the employees at start of shift for sanitizing and having clean equipment
• Communicate any mechanical problems to maintenance
• Communicate any deficiencies to supervisors or lead employees
• Write work orders if needed
• Monitor cleanliness of production area.
• Ensure all Food Safety, SQF, and Safety polices are followed.
• Make sure all employees are wearing proper PPE specific to their job areas.
• Active Food Securing and Defense surveillance inside the facility and its operations.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, and write).
• Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
• Must be able to successfully complete training:
• Safety.
• Safe Quality Food (SQF).
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Food defense.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior quality assurance experience.
• Prior production experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
• Work history in the last 12 months.
• Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish (speak, read, and write).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be able to maintain the integrity of confidential information.
• Strong investigative and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of perspectives from leadership to production staff employees.
