Job summary

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is seeking a Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor at our Gibbon, NE plant. The role involves overseeing refrigeration systems, boilers and compressors, while leading a team and upholding safety and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship
• PLC background with Allen Bradley Programming – minimum 2 years preferred
• Process Safety Management (PSM) background including maintaining proper documentation – minimum 2 years preferred
• Ammonia refrigeration background

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical aspects of refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors and building maintenance.
• Maintain safe and compliant operations with SOPs and food safety policies.
• Develop and maintain effective employee relations; professional team building and mentorship.
• Schedule preventative maintenance and coordinate with plant engineer to minimize downtime.
• Support continuous improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Manage tools, utensils and potentially dangerous equipment used daily.
• Provide work direction to maintenance staff and assistants.
• Adhere to PPE requirements and shop cleanliness; ensure safety training is followed.

Overview

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor at our Gibbon, NE plant.

As Our Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor, You Will

• Work closely with plant engineer while overseeing all mechanical aspects of refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors, air make-up units, and building maintenance.
• Develop and maintain effective employee relations.
• Professional team building:
• Encourage teamwork and learning.
• Maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.
• Monitor the cleanliness of the shop work area.
• Ensure all Food Safety, SQF, and Safety policies are followed.
• Making sure all employees are wearing proper PPE specific to their job areas.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Provide work direction to maintenance assistants or helpers.
• Maintain minimal production down time and solutions to reduce downtime.
• Schedule preventative maintenance.
• Support continuous improvements.
• Support cost reduction.
• Account for tools, utensils and other potentially dangerous equipment that are distributed on a daily basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
