Job summary

Alaska Marine Lines is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic to maintain and repair refrigerated containers at our Seattle terminal. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Our mechanics diagnose and repair refrigeration systems, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure reliability using specialized tools and software. The role involves travel to Alaska and overtime opportunities, with benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• EPA certified type 2 or better for CFR required, Universal EPA preferred.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Previous experience repairing Carrier or Star Cool refrigeration units a plus.
• Use of a personal mobile device for essential work tasks such as MFA, Dayforce, and receiving time-sensitive communications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose & repair refrigerated container systems using tools and meters.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliability.
• Repair brazing and soldering of copper/brass components in refrigeration system.
• Diagnose and repair high/low voltage electrical circuits.
• Upload/download information from unit microprocessors and generate repair orders.
