Job summary
Schwan's is seeking a maintenance technician for the 2nd shift in Erie, PA. Starting pay is $23.00 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential. This full-time role involves daily inspections, repairs of ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and support for equipment installation in a food manufacturing environment.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, with 0–1 year of related ammonia refrigeration experience. Safety training and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; two-year degree preferred.
- 0–1 year of related ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
- Knowledge of refrigeration maintenance, electrical, HVAC or plumbing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comply with safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment.
- Repair ammonia refrigeration systems and related components.
- Monitor boilers, evaporators, condensers and water treatment.
- Assist with setup, fabrication and installation of new plant machinery.
- Follow safety protocols including LOTO, confined spaces, respiratory protection, and hazmat training.
