Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Refrigeration Technician in Houston to diagnose, overhaul, and repair truck and trailer refrigeration units, with a focus on reefer maintenance. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, diagnostic work, and preventive maintenance to ensure reliable cold-chain operations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Thermo King/Carrier experience, 608 certification, and owns their own tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience on Thermo King or Carrier reefer units.
• 608 certification required.
• Proficient with refrigeration component overhaul and diagnostic tools.
• Must own tools and be able to lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair truck/trailer reefer units.
• Maintain refrigeration units with diagnostics and onboard computers.
• Support university recruiting efforts and participate in outreach.
• Perform preventive maintenance and component replacement.
• Repair Freon leaks and install parts with soldering/welding.
• Install new units on trailers, trucks, and vans.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
