Job summary

Brakebush Brothers, Irving division is hiring a Refrigeration Technician for the 2nd shift. The role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to read drawings, use hand tools, and monitor temperatures and pressures in industrial refrigeration systems.

Applicants must complete required safety and training courses and be able to work overtime. The position offers full-time hours with competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, life, 401(k) with match, tuition

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Must pass pulmonary fitness test.
• Must complete power jack/forklift training course, Lock Out/Tag Out and Hazard Communication training courses.
• Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to frequently bend, lift and twist.
• Must be able and available to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Obey all safety, USDA, HACCP, and company rules and regulations.
• Interpret drawings, use required hand tools and testing equipment.
• Observe and record temperatures and pressures as required.
• Maintain air compressors and dryers; keep water systems including pumps and softeners.
• Perform pipefitting and plumbing tasks (PVC, galvanized, black and stainless) up to 4” dia.
• Perform HAZMAT duties as required.
• Communicate with management regarding production safety and employee relations.
• Support production demands as needed; perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as production demands may require:

Essential Functions

• Must obey all safety, USDA, HACCP, and the Company rules and regulations.
• Must know shop mathematics, able to interpret drawings, and be able to use tools required.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to utilize hand tools and testing equipment
• Observe and record temperatures and pressures as required
• Observe and maintain air compressors and dryers
• Maintain water systems including pumps and softeners
• Variety of pipefitting and plumbing, work with PVC, galvanized, black and stainless pipe up to 4” dia.
• Perform HAZMAT duties as required.
• Keep compressor rooms and related areas cleaned
• Physical requirements must be able to lift 50-70 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Must have good communication skills (both written and oral).
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime.
• Communicating with management when there are concerns with the following: Production Safety Employee Relations
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client. Also, perform other related duties as required by management.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities .

Education

High school diploma or equivalent .

Experience

Minimum of 1 year work related experience .

Working Conditions

High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present. Job requires frequent bending, lifting and twisting, climbing, working in tight places, etc. Employees will wear personal protective equipment as necessary or required.
