Job summary

Publix is seeking a Refrigeration Technician 2 to support our Facilities Refrigeration team in St. Augustine, FL. The role focuses on maintenance of rack refrigeration, routine service requests, and HVAC repair across retail stores.

Responsibilities include evaluating repairs, mentoring junior technicians, maintaining inventory, and assisting with special refrigeration projects. EPA license and valid driver’s license required; travel and nights/weekends may be necessary.

Qualifications

• HVAC or refrigeration trade education or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years refrigeration experience in service or construction OR 1+ year as Refrigeration Technician 1.
• Must be 20+ years old with a valid driver's license.
• EPA Universal License required.
• Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with EMS systems such as Danfoss and Emerson.
• Ability to lift, climb ladders, and walk on roofs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, on-call rotations and travel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and perform HVACR repairs and general maintenance on all refrigeration systems in the Retail environment.
• Mentor other Refrigeration Technician 1s on servicing equipment.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory as part of housekeeping duties.
• Contribute to special refrigeration projects and support corporate initiatives.

We are seeking a Refrigeration Technician 2 to join our Facilities Refrigeration team! Refrigeration Technician 2s support the retail refrigeration operations by performing general rack refrigeration maintenance, routine general refrigeration maintenance service requests for retail stores, HVAC repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating and performing HVACR repairs and general maintenance on all refrigeration systems and equipment in the Retail environment
• Training and mentoring other Refrigeration Technician 1’s on all aspects of performing service on all equipment
• Performing housekeeping duties such as maintaining accurate parts inventory
• Participating in special refrigeration projects for retail facilities and assisting with the implementation of corporate projects

Required Qualifications

• HVAC or Refrigeration Trade School completion or equivalent experience
• At least three (3) years working in refrigeration in either service or construction discipline OR at least one (1) year as a Refrigeration Technician 1
• Must be at least 20 years old and have a valid driver license
• EPA Universal License
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of EMS systems i.e., Danfoss and Emerson
• Ability to lift/lower/climb ladders/walk on roofs
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, on call rotations and travel with overnight stays

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years working in refrigeration in either service or construction disciplines OR two (2) more years working as a Refrigeration Technician 2

In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
