Brakebush Brothers Irving is seeking a Refrigeration Technician for the 2nd shift. The role emphasizes safe operation, reading diagrams, and maintaining refrigeration systems in a high-output plant in Irving, TX.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, pre-employment checks, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Full-time employment with benefits is offered, along with overtime opportunities.

Position: Refrigeration Specialist I

Compensation: Hourly Non-exempt

Reports to: Utilities Manager

Qualifications:

Display positive attitude and teamwork skills. Must complete a pre-employment physical and drug test. Must pass pulmonary fitness test. Must complete power jack/forklift training course, Lock Out/Tag Out and Hazard Communication training courses. Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day. Ability to frequently bend, lift and twist. Must be able and available to work overtime as required.

Job Summary:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as production demands may require:

Essential Functions:

• Must obey all safety, USDA, HACCP, and the Company rules and regulations.
• Must know shop mathematics, able to interpret drawings, and be able to use tools required.
• Working knowledge of refrigeration
• Mechanically inclined with ability to utilize hand tools and testing equipment
• Observe and record temperatures and pressures as required
• Observe air compressors and dryers
• Maintain hot water system
• Variety of pipefitting and plumbing, work with PVC, galvanized, black and stainless pipe up to 4” dia.
• Keep compressor rooms and related areas cleaned
• Physical requirements must be able to lift 50-70 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Must have good communication skills (both written and oral).
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime.
• Communicating with management when there are concerns with the following: Production Safety Employee Relations
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client. Also, perform other related duties as required by management.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education :

High school diploma or equivalent .

Experience :

Minimum of 6 months work related experience .

Working Conditions:

High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present. Job requires frequent bending, lifting and twisting, climbing, working in tight places, etc. Employees will wear personal protective equipment as necessary or required.
