Job summary

City Building Engineering Services (CBES) is seeking a Field Engineer / Commissioning Agent to support start-up, commissioning, and verification of refrigeration, HVAC, and EMS systems for supermarket projects. You will work with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure designs are installed and tested per requirements.

The role reports to the Manager of Field Engineering and requires 3+ years in supermarket construction or HVACR/controls.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and inspection records.
• Present a professional field presence with customers.
• Work independently while following established processes and direction.
• Comfortable in machine rooms and field environments that are loud and dusty.

Responsibilities

• Visit sites during construction/remodels to verify progress and scope adherence.
• Lead on-site commissioning activities and test EMS-driven equipment.
• Commission HVACR equipment for new installations or relocations.
• Support start-up of refrigeration racks with contractors and manufacturers.
• Evaluate existing RHVAC/EMS systems for integration into projects.
• Prepare interim and final commissioning reports, note exceptions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with engineering teams and PM.
• Verify EMS and RHVAC control system operation and programming.
