Job summary

CES Family of Companies in Des Moines, IA is seeking qualified refrigeration technicians to maintain and repair commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-ins and freezers. The role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience, valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. EPA Type II or Universal certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting, installation and service of commercial refrigeration.
• Proficiency with tools and equipment common to the trade.
• EPA refrigerant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain commercial refrigeration systems and equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in refrigeration equipment, performing repairs or replacements to restore function.
• Handle refrigerants per federal and state regulations, including recovery and disposal when required.
• Respond to service calls promptly and provide excellent customer service.
• Interact with clients to understand refrigeration needs and recommend equipment or maintenance services.
• Keep accurate records of service performed, parts used, and system details.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Stay updated on the latest technologies, tools and industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain commercial refrigeration systems and equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in refrigeration equipment, making repairs or replacements as necessary to restore functionality
• Hand and manage refrigerants according to federal and state regulations, including recovery and disposal when required
• Respond to services calls promptly, provide excellent customer service and efficiently resolve issues
• Interact with clients to understand their refrigeration needs and provide recommendations for equipment or maintenance services
• Maintain accurate records of service performed including work orders, parts used and any pertinent details about the systems serviced
• Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations and environmental standards
• Stay updated on the lates technologies, tools and industry practices to enhance skills and knowledge in commercial refrigeration

Requirements

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record, as this position may require driving a company van to various job sites
• 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting, installation and service of commercial refrigeration
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment common to the trade
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues accurately
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
• Ability to climb a ladder up to 24'
• Ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs.
• EPA, Refrigeration- Type II or Universal certificate preferred
