Job summary

RC&E in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced Pipe Welder to join our industrial refrigeration construction team. This role focuses on fabrication, fit-up, welding, brazing, installation, and repair of carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper piping systems used in ammonia refrigeration facilities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong welding skills, safety commitment, and the ability to produce high-quality work in accordance with project specifications, codes, and company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience welding carbon steel and stainless-steel piping with GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick).
• Experience brazing copper refrigeration piping systems.
• Industrial refrigeration experience preferred.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
• Ability to read piping drawings and isometrics.
• Ability to operate welding and fabrication tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Weld, fabricate, and install carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems for industrial refrigeration applications.
• Braze copper piping and tubing systems using proper brazing techniques.
• Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, spool drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Perform pipe fit-up, alignment, layout, and assembly of piping systems and equipment connections.
• Prepare pipe and fittings for welding and brazing, ensuring proper bevels, cleanliness, and joint preparation.
• Perform GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), and other approved welding processes per welding procedures.
• Produce high-quality welds meeting code requirements and company quality standards.
• Install pipe supports, hangers, anchors, and related piping components.
• Operate grinders, cutting equipment, and other hand tools.
• Direct and assist helpers in material prep, fit-up, and installation activities.
• Inspect completed work for compliance with drawings, specs, and quality requirements.
• Maintain safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Weld, fabricate, and install carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems for industrial refrigeration applications.

Requirements

• Experience welding carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe using GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) processes.
• Experience brazing copper refrigeration piping systems.
• Industrial refrigeration experience preferred.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, isometrics, and construction documents.
• Ability to recognize, set up, and operate welding equipment, cutting equipment, and common fabrication tools.
• Knowledge of proper pipe fit-up, alignment, joint preparation, and welding techniques.
• Ability to identify weld defects and perform corrective actions as necessary.
• Ability to safely operate grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools.
• Knowledge of welding symbols, measurements, and layout techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work in industrial environments.
• Must maintain a strong commitment to safety and quality.
