Job summary

San Diego Unified School District is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic (Air Conditioning) to install, inspect, repair, and maintain air conditioning systems across multiple district locations.

This full-time, 12-month, 40-hour per week position pays $37.77–$45.89 per hour; it is paid on the OSS Salary Schedule (Grade 048). Bilingual positions may receive a 5% differential and the posting is promotional/open with internal precedence.

Qualifications

• Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of a recognized air condition mechanic training program.
• Two years of directly related experience may be substituted for the training requirement.
• Possession of a valid Class II Environmental Protection Agency certificate for handling chlorofluorocarbons (C.F.C.).

BASIC FUNCTION

The Refrigeration Mechanic (Air Conditioning) will perform skilled work in the installation inspection, repair, and maintenance of air conditioning machinery and equipment.

VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS

• Working Location: Various Locations
• Work Schedule: 12 months per year / 40 hours per week
• Salary: This position is paid on the OSS Salary Schedule. Grade 048.
• Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
