Job summary

General Mills, Inc. at the Totino’s Wellston, OH plant is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic to maintain critical refrigeration systems and support equipment across a 24/7 operation. You will collaborate with experienced teams and pass knowledge while upholding safety protocols.

The role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting ammonia and utility systems, and mentoring new staff as part of continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in industrial maintenance or related field.
• Continuing education in maintenance/technical skills.
• Computer Maintenance Management Systems experience.
• HazMat Technician Level Emergency Response Certificate and/or CIRO or CARO Certification through RETA preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to perform physical tasks for extended periods (standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting).
• Ability to climb/work at heights with stairs, ladders, or platforms.
• Willing to adhere to grooming requirements for a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environments.
• Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery.
• Ability to work with allergens present in a food environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot refrigeration systems and related equipment.
• Provide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and modifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with Master PM schedule.
• Conduct daily rounds of ammonia systems and support utilities such as engines and freezers.
• Assist with training of new employees and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report unsafe conditions to plant safety personnel and participate in safety programs.
