Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Refrigeration Maintenance technician for the 1st shift in the United States. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime while ensuring team safety.

The role requires at least 6 months of mechanic or refrigeration experience, basic CMMS skills, and willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience or refrigeration experience in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
• PSM experience is preferred.
• Refrigeration experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills for logging information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation. Ability to learn and utilize the CMMS.
• Communication skills: effective communication and basic math skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally; ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
• Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop.
• Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling.
• Frequent overhead work.
• Temperatures inside the plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work may also be needed.
• Willing and able to work overtime and weekends.
• Willing and able to furnish your own tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
• Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
• Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
• Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
