Job summary

Tyson Foods in Green Forest, AR is seeking a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance of plant equipment, execute preventative repairs, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

This role requires readiness to work overtime and weekends, lift up to 40 lbs, and participate in safety procedures including SCBA usage; prior refrigeration experience or industrial refrigeration training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance training or equivalent experience preferred.

• Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
• Apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to production equipment.
• Interact with plant personnel to achieve goals.
• Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.

Refrigeration Maintenance Technician

Pay: based on experience. Shift: 3rd Shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated effectively to the team members and efficiently.
• Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
• Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
• Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
• Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.

Requirements

• Applicants will be considered for any refrigeration maintenance Tech position open.
• If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for an interview.
• Applicants must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
• Some departments are hot/wet, and some are cold/wet.
• Position requires pushing, pulling, or lifting over 40 lbs. and climbing ladders above 10 feet.
• Requires high school connect 4 education, and/or industrial maintenance training or equivalent experience.
• Requires using SCBA equipment.
• All other duties assigned by management.
• Must have 1 year refrigeration experience or Education: Industrial refrigeration diploma or currently enrolled in a technical school (in lieu or of experience).
• Preferred: Additional experience beyond the minimum requirement.
