Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a starter-level Maintenance position in the Refrigeration Department. The role involves cleaning ammonia refrigeration air units, HVAC/MAUs on the roof, changing filters, and shadowing Refrigeration Technicians to gain ammonia refrigeration system experience.

You will create maintenance notifications, work orders, and record time in the SAP system. The position requires physical effort, shift rotation, overtime as needed, and compliance with safety and hazmat requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year of maintenance experience within the past 2 years.
• Ability to work in hot/cold/wet environments.
• Must be able to pass Level 4 pulmonary function test and physical annually.
• Must be clean shaven for proper respirator fit.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and washing of ammonia refrigeration air units and HVAC/MAUs on the roof.
• Create maintenance notifications and work orders; enter time in SAP.
• Shadow Refrigeration Technicians to learn ammonia refrigeration systems; assist as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties and rotate shifts as required.

This position is a starter position in the Refrigeration Department to perform cleaning/washing Ammonia refrigeration air units and HVAC /MAUs units on the roof, change filters, clean roof area,etc and shadow Refrigeration Techs to be trained in the ammonia refrigeration system and will be considered for any future Refrigeration Tech positions open.

Need to create Maintenance Notifications, work orders, and confirm time into the SAP system.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Applicant must be able to work in are hot/cold/wet environments.

Position requires pushing, pulling, or lifting over 40 lbs. and climbing ladders above 10 feet.

Position requires walking and standing approximately 8.5 hours/day on concrete floor.

The work schedule is 6 days a week, be off during the week, and must be able to work on weekends and holidays as scheduled. This position may require you to rotate shifts as needed and must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Position requires passing a Level 4 pulmonary function test and physical and be recertified each year to maintain position. This job requires being clean shaven to get a proper fit while using APR/SCBA equipment. Requires being a member of the Plant Hazmat Team.

Must be able to complete Refrigeration and General Maintenance computer-based training.

• Must have 1 year maintenance experience within the immediate past 2 years.

Applicant must not have worked for Tyson more than a total of 3 times prior. Applicants must also have completed at least 180 days since their last employment with Tyson.
