Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to install refrigeration systems for supermarket projects. You will handle electrical, piping, and fixture installations, and work across piping cooler boxes, overhead lines, and compressor rooms.

Expect to install pipe hangers and provide construction support under the Foreman. The role requires brazing, insulation, and reading blueprints, with strong safety practices and the ability to travel about half the time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years’ experience in pipefitting of supermarket refrigeration systems.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install supermarket refrigeration systems including electrical, piping, and fixture installation.
• Pipe cooler boxes, overhead lines, compressor rooms/houses, and refrigeration cases.
• Install pipe hangers as directed by the Foreman.
• Provide construction support by brazing, insulating, hanging piping, and assisting the Construction Foreman.

Role Overview

• Installing supermarket refrigeration systems, which include electrical, piping, and fixture handling/installation.
• Piping cooler boxes, overhead lines, compressor rooms/houses, and refrigeration cases.
• Installing pipe hangers as directed by the Foreman.
• Providing construction support by brazing, insulating, and hanging piping, and assisting the Construction Foreman as needed.
• Being a champion of safety, must abide by all safety protocol and be an example to others when safety is an issue.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Travel - 50% of the time or when required.
• Work shifts vary and are driven by project requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years' relevant experience in pipefitting of supermarket refrigeration systems.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong working knowledge of plumbing and pipe fitting with the ability to pipe supermarket refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of brazing refrigeration piping.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.
• Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Travel - 50% of the time or when required.
• Work shifts vary and are driven by project requirements.
