Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a maintenance-oriented professional to contribute to safety programs and perform routine repairs in a steel production environment. The role involves supporting start-up/shutdown procedures and collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient operation.

You will install and repair refractories in steel vessels, troubleshoot equipment, and support housekeeping and safety compliance on a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to rotate shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold the Safety Culture.
• Perform minor maintenance or repairs as needed without outside help.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in work methods and procedures.
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Assist maintenance personnel when requested or needed.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee repairs and replacements.
• Install and repair refractories in steel vessels (furnaces, ladles, tundishes).
• Visual inspection of furnaces for leaks or wear.
