Job summary

Abilene Eye Institute seeks an experienced Ophthalmic Technician for our refractive surgery practice. You will perform diagnostic testing, educate patients, and support pre-, intra-, and post-operative care in a high-technology clinic.

Join a busy, patient-centered team focused on LASIK, PRK, ICL, and other vision corrections. This full-time, on-site role offers hands-on opportunities and a collaborative culture with surgeons and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Assistant.
• Proficiency with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; COA/COT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete refractive workups and diagnostic testing.
• Evaluate visual acuity (distance and near).
• Execute pachymetry, wavefront analysis, and pupil size measurements.
• Assist in the laser suite and maintain sterile technique.
• Document patient histories in the EMR and educate about procedures.
