Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 16 hours of college-level chemistry required. Chemistry Degree preferred.
• Two (2) years or more of chemical analysis and laboratory experience required.
• Must be able to wear PPE in a refinery (respirator, SCBA, etc.) to perform all tasks in the field.
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive chemical analysis of water, petroleum, gasoline, solvents and other compounds using standard tests and procedures.
• Records and analyzes results, assembles data, and issues Certificate of Analysis (COAs) to customers.
• Recommends and implements corrective actions to mitigate unfavorable conditions found during analysis and maintains laboratory equipment functionality.
• Verifies questionable tests by ensuring proper procedures, equipment, and solutions are used and corrections are made as needed.
• Writes and reviews SOPs; develops training for technicians and ensures compliance with MPC Lab Training Standards.
• Acts as a liaison between the laboratory and other stakeholders in the company.
