Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s Detroit refinery is seeking a pump mechanical mobile operator. The role involves repairing, troubleshooting, and installing rotating equipment, reading schematics, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

You will operate forklifts, telehandlers, and man lifts while adhering to safety standards. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and pass a DOT physical plus written and hands-on tests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass DOT physical.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to wear PPE and perform physical field work.
• Must pass written and hands-on skill tests.
• NCCCO certification to be obtained within 9 months where not already held.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, and install rotating equipment including pumps and compressors.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Maintain maintenance documentation and reports.
• Follow refinery work permits and safety standards.
• Operate mobile equipment: forklifts, telehandlers, man lifts.
• Obtain NCCCO Fixed Cab Crane Certification within 9 months of hire, if not already certified.
