Job summary

Valero Energy is seeking a Pump Mechanic at the Memphis Refinery to install, inspect, and maintain rotating equipment while following API/ASME/ANSI standards and OEM specs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, journeyman certification, and a minimum of 5 years of rotating equipment experience. On-site work at the Valero Memphis Refinery is required, with opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work on-site at Valero Memphis Refinery.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman certification (or equivalent) from an accredited source required.
• Minimum of 5 years of Rotating Equipment or related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and maintain rotating equipment (centrifugal pumps, compressors, turbines, gear boxes, blowers, fin fans).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance per API/ASME/ANSI standards and OEM specs.
• Adjust and align machinery and equipment.
• Use hand and power tools to complete tasks.
• Read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Set up, prepare, and inspect the work site.
• Apply craft math and basic physical principles.
• Understand bearings, seals, pumps, cylinders, valve/pipe configurations, shaft packing and drive systems.
