Job summary

STSI (Staffing Technical Services Inc.) is seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to support capital projects, maintenance initiatives, and operational improvements in a refinery setting. This onsite role requires coordinating with multiple teams and delivering from planning through execution.

The ideal candidate has refinery field experience and a background in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Controls engineering, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Recent refinery field experience.
• Experience managing multiple project tasks.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and own deliverables.
• Experience collaborating with operations and maintenance personnel.
• Onsite full-time in Billings, Montana.

Responsibilities

• Support development, planning, execution, and closeout of refinery projects.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, construction, and contractor teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Develop and review project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Conduct field walkdowns and provide engineering support during project execution.
• Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with site safety standards, industry regulations, and engineering best practices.
• Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
• Support MOC processes and project documentation requirements.
• Provide technical oversight during construction, commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities as required.
