Job summary

Marathon Petroleum is seeking a Process Technology Operator Intern in Texas City, TX to gain hands-on refinery experience and apply classroom knowledge in a real work setting. You will learn unit operations, startup/shutdown activities, and safety procedures while working with seasoned operators.

The program targets students or recent graduates from a two-year Process Technology program, with a 3.0+ GPA and ability to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in a 2-year Process Technology program or recent graduate with graduation date on resume.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 and not on academic probation.
• Official transcripts must be provided.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical knowledge and problem-solving in refinery operations under supervision.
• Monitor, regulate, troubleshoot, and support refinery process equipment and systems.
• Learn outside field operations and process control responsibilities.
• Gather data, analyze results, and suggest operational adjustments.
• Assist with unit startups/shutdowns and other operational activities.
