Job summary

Hunt Refining Company is seeking a diligent operations professional to support safety, instrumentation, and process control in a refinery setting. The role emphasizes safety compliance, incident response, and routine maintenance within a high-hazard environment.

The position requires strong communication, the ability to document shifts, perform lab sampling, and assist the Console Operator and Unit Leader to meet refinery goals. A high school diploma and basic maintenance skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Capable of performing basic maintenance tasks.
• Must have the initiative to work toward refinery goals.
• Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot operations problems.
• Has a good working relationship with Unit Leaders, Console and Field Operators, Operations Specialists, Shift Superintendents, Area Superintendents, and Engineers.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
• Participates in Emergency Drill Parties.
• Learns Hunt Refining Company’s safety policies and their use in all work activities.
• Responds to callouts and emergency situations.
• Gives their relief a concise, accurate verbal summary of what happened on the shift.
• Writes work orders as needed and notifies the Unit Leader.
• Performs needed maintenance on shift as necessary.
• Obtains samples for the lab as necessary.
• Routinely samples process gases for H2S.
• Takes inventory of lube oil and chemicals and orders as needed.
• Checks DCS indications against local instruments to verify readings.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Capable of performing basic maintenance tasks

Must have the initiative to work toward refinery goals

Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot operations problems

Has a good working relationship with Unit Leaders, Console and Field Operators, Operations Specialists, Shift Superintendents, Area Superintendents, and Engineers
