Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines in Winnemucca, NV is seeking a Refinery Operator to ensure safe, efficient operation of processing circuits and equipment across grinding, leaching, electrowinning and related systems. You will monitor parameters, adjust controls and maintain accurate records while following environmental and safety procedures.

The role requires rotating shifts including nights, good teamwork, strong problem solving, and proficiency with Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Ability to follow directions. Proven safety and attendance record required.
• Understanding of computer applications such as Word and Excel; written and verbal procedures.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision required.
• Ability to communicate and effectively work with a variety of individuals (i.e., operations, Maintenance, Metallurgist and Lab) required.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of this job required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow procedures that utilize equipment and instruments critical to monitoring process performance.
• Understand and comply with environmental permit limits.
• Maintain accurate records for metallurgical accounting and process control.
• Operate production machinery and equipment to maximize production.
• Open and/or secure vault
• Prepare gold bullion for shipment
• Collect samples for metallurgical accounting and process control.
• Operate listed equipment (Electrowinning, retorts, furnaces, carbon filters, zinc circuit, slag handling).
• Attach lockout devices to electrical equipment during maintenance.
• Identify preventative maintenance needs.
• Complete operator reports and time entry accurately.
• Work on weekends and holidays as needed.
• Respond to emergencies that could cause injury or loss of production.
• Communicate daily operations with refinery supervisor.
