Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) is seeking Mechanical Engineering interns for various refinery locations. Roles include area/project engineering and reliability engineering, with opportunities to learn codes, collaborate across disciplines, and develop project-management skills.

You will work with a team across refining units, gaining exposure to maintenance, design improvements, and operational processes while pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong academic performance.
• Authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without visa sponsorship.
• Positions are available spring, summer, and fall semesters.
• Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Concurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program.
• Military experience a plus.
• MIN - $32.92 per hour / MAX - $41.67 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Engineers will learn industry codes and best practices and work with a team across refining processes.
• Work on project areas such as Area Refining Engineer/Project Engineers to develop scopes, estimates and schedules.
• Reliability Engineers support maintenance through design improvements and root-cause analysis.
• Expand written and verbal presentation skills in a professional environment.
