Job summary

Flint Hills Resources in Rosemount, Minnesota is seeking a Planner for the Pine Bend Refinery to support the reliability team in ensuring safe, efficient operations and timely, high-quality repairs.

You will prepare work orders, coordinate with Crafts, Operations, Asset Engineers, and peers to forecast work, and develop plans for repair, preventive maintenance and upgrades on valves, piping, exchangers and other process equipment. This role requires strong teamwork and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of how to use hand and shop tools.
• Proficiency with computers and mobile phones.
• Previous experience with maintenance in a refining, process, energy, or industrial manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing job scopes on new, unusual or critical jobs with historical problems to develop understanding of expectations.
• Determining and documenting steps and time estimates required to complete jobs within scope - Step out jobs detailing completion requirements.
• Complete work order step text in accordance with job package guidelines.
• Build job packages.
• Provide cost estimates as needed/requested.
• Assure FHR specifications and standards are followed throughout planning process - perform field work walk downs developing a comprehensive understanding of scope, plan and requirements.
• Follow planning priority process assuring high risk work is properly planned.
• Participate in weekly schedule review meetings, proactively providing insight and input.
• Communicate and coordinate multi-craft jobs with all other planners.
• Provide input to critical reliability & opening schedule to validate estimate timeline.
• Monitor the ready work order backlog ensuring high risk jobs are completed.
