Job summary

Chevron Corporation in Salt Lake City is seeking a Fixed Equipment Integrity Inspector to support safe operation of refinery fixed equipment through inspection, condition assessment, and integrity programs.

You will coordinate inspections, review NDE/NDT results, maintain records, and work with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Reliability to improve asset care and inspection strategies. This role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience performing fixed equipment inspections in refinery, petrochemical, chemical, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of fixed equipment inspection principles, damage mechanisms, NDE/NDT methods, and applicable industry codes and standards.
• Ability to evaluate inspection findings, communicate integrity risks, maintain inspection records, and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractor organizations.
• Preferred: API 510/API 570/API 653 certifications.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture and exercise Stop Work Authority when conditions warrant.
• Perform and coordinate inspections of fixed equipment (pressure vessels, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, furnaces).
• Evaluate inspection results and equipment condition; identify damage mechanisms and integrity concerns.
• Develop technically sound inspection recommendations and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support inspection planning for routine operations, shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance events.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and data within integrity management systems.
• Support RBI, corrosion monitoring, CUI, OSI, and other programs.
• Review NDE/NDT results and coordinate additional examinations as needed.
• Ensure inspections comply with company standards and industry codes.
• Monitor inspection due dates and help prioritize workloads.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability and contractors.
• Participate in repairs, alterations, rerates, and Fitness-for-Service evaluations.
