Job summary

Chevron Corp. seeks an FEI Inspector to support the safe, reliable operation of refinery fixed equipment through inspection, condition assessment, documentation, and mechanical integrity activities.

You will analyze inspection data, identify damage mechanisms, and develop technically sound inspection recommendations in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, and contractors. You will perform and coordinate inspections, maintain records, and support RBI, corrosion

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience performing fixed equipment inspections in refinery or similar environment.
• Knowledge of inspection principles, NDE/NDT methods, and industry codes.
• Ability to communicate risks and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and Stop Work Authority when conditions warrant.
• Perform and coordinate inspections of fixed equipment, including pressure vessels, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, furnaces, and associated equipment.
• Evaluate inspection results and identify damage mechanisms and integrity concerns.
• Develop technically sound inspection recommendations and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support inspection planning and execution for routine operations, shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance events.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and equipment data in integrity management systems.
• Support RBI, corrosion monitoring, CUI, OSI, and other fixed equipment programs.
• Review NDE/NDT results and coordinate additional examinations as needed.
• Ensure activities align with company standards and industry codes.
• Monitor due dates and prioritize workloads to maintain compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, and contractors.
• Participate in repairs, alterations, rerates, and Fitness-for-Service evaluations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes and data quality.
