Job summary

Valero is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support on-site compliance with environmental regulations at the Wilmington Refinery in California. You will ensure reporting, recordkeeping, and monitoring requirements are met and assist with permitting tasks as needed.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science and at least two years of environmental or refinery engineering experience. On-site work is required and the position includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Science.
• Minimum 2 years environmental or refinery engineering experience.
• On-site at Valero Wilmington Refinery required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Spill/Upset/Emission Event/Reporting requirements are satisfied.
• Complete federal/state reporting obligations (SARA 313, Emission Inventories, NSPS, MACT, Annual Waste Summary, LDAR, etc.).
• Maintain records to demonstrate regulatory compliance and permit requirements.
• Inspect emission control equipment as required and report to authorities.
• Assist with regulatory permitting tasks as needed.
• Communicate with Engineering and Operations to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Generate reports to support compliance demonstrations.
