Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Refill Pharmacy Technician to support providers and patients by processing prescription refill requests. This role collaborates with clinicians and pharmacies to ensure accurate, timely refill actions in accordance with Indiana pharmacy regulations.

You will enter refill data, maintain records, and communicate with patients and pharmacies to clarify requests, while prioritizing accuracy and patient safety in a busy healthcare environment.

• Analyze refill requests for accuracy and completeness prior to pharmacist review
• Enter and maintain prescription and refill information in the pharmacy system
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and pharmacies to clarify requests and resolve issues
• Ensure all refill activities comply with state regulations and organizational policies
• Prioritize workload to meet volume while maintaining accuracy

Description:

The Refill Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in supporting providers and patients by managing prescription refill requests. This unique position works closely with providers, clinical staff, and pharmacies to ensure refill requests are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with Indiana pharmacy regulations. Technicians in the refill department work at the top of their license and are entrusted with responsibilities that maximize their technical knowledge, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
