Job summary

Genesis PrimeCare is seeking a Referral Specialist to coordinate patient referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications, ensuring timely access to care. The role verifies insurance eligibility and benefits, communicates with patients and providers, and maintains accurate referral records to support smooth clinical workflows.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma (or GED) and may bring 1 year of clinic experience; LPN or CMA credentials and Spanish language skills are a plus in our

• Preferred: Licensed Vocational Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant.
• Preferred: Spanish speaking and writing skills.

Job description

The Referral Specialist is responsible for coordinating and facilitating patient referrals, specialty services, authorizations, and pre-certifications. This position verifies insurance eligibility and benefits, ensures patients are appropriately cleared for referred services, and coordinates with patients, providers, insurance companies, hospitals, and other referral partners to support timely access to care. The Referral Specialist maintains accurate referral documentation, communicates referral and appointment information, follows up on outstanding items, and assists patients and clinical staff with the administrative requirements of the referral process. This role also provides general administrative support, maintains a professional and patient-centered environment, and ensures referral activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established policies and procedures./.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED

• One (1) year of practice experience in a clinical office setting.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse or Certified Medical Assitant
• Spanish speaking and writing skills
