  • Verify prior authorizations and enter copays/insurance information.
  • Check and obtain authorizations before scheduling appointments.
  • Verify patient plans and coverage options with insurers.
  • Gather patient clinical background and referral needs.
  • Review referral details with patients.
  • Answer calls and discuss appointment openings, cancellations, and referrals.
  • Perform referrals through P2P for MIPS.
  • Comply with HIPAA and privacy regulations.

The Patient Referral Specialist is responsible for managing the intake and referral process for patients. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Patient Referral Specialist to join our team and support our mission.

  • Receive, review, and process new patient and established patient referrals from healthcare providers and other referral sources.
  • Communicate with referring providers to obtain complete and accurate referral documentation.
  • Enter patient referral information into the EMR system and ensure all necessary data is recorded.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Contact review organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met and enter copays and insurance information into eCW.
  • Check for and obtain authorizations before scheduling appointments.
  • Contact insurance companies to verify patient plans and coverage options.
  • Gather information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs.
  • Review details and expectations about the referral with patients.
  • Answer phone calls and speak with patients about appointment openings, cancellations, and referrals.
  • Perform referrals through P2P for MIPS.
  • Comply with HIPPA and other privacy regulations to ensure the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
