Responsibilities

• Schedule inpatient/outpatient tests, procedures, and appointments; document events in the medical record.
• Complete forms for referrals and pre-certifications (authorizations).
• Obtain insurance authorizations and add to the electronic health record.
• Coordinate date, time, and location with patient, facility, and provider.
• Communicate appointment details and special instructions to patients.
• Collaborate with patient, physician, and care team to ensure timely care.
• Maintain referral/diagnostic logs with follow-up verification.
