Job summary

Covenant Health in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Referral & Precert Specialist for the Cardiology Associate of East Tennessee. This full-time role (80 hours per pay period, day shift) directs daily scheduling operations for inpatient and outpatient services, obtaining referrals and pre-certifications.

You will work with providers, patients, and care teams to ensure accurate referrals, maintain logs, and coordinate dates and locations for procedures, while applying knowledge of insurance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• Referral/pre-certification experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules inpatient/outpatient tests, procedures and appointments as directed by provider.
• Completes all forms for referrals and pre-certifications.
• Maintains referral tracking logs with follow-up verification.
• Coordinates date, time and location of procedures with patient, facility and provider.
• Collaborates with patient, physician and care team as part of a team-based approach.
