Job summary

Avera Marshall is seeking a Healthcare Scheduling Coordinator to manage the direction and scheduling of physician referrals and procedures for the consumer. You will coordinate various clinic and hospital-based appointments and ensure accurate timing and locations.

A Brief Overview

Accountable for the direction and scheduling of physician referrals and/or procedures for the consumer.

What You Will Do

• Schedules all out-of-clinic procedures and appointments including but not limited to, clinic diagnostics, hospital-based diagnostics, specialty physician clinic appointments, etc.
• Develops and researches insurance information and serves as a resource for preauthorization efficiencies, preauthorizing procedures, ensuring consent forms and waivers are signed as appropriate.
• Complete requests of medical records to the referring physician and order forms for procedures to be scheduled by the hospital.
• Communicates with patients to inform them of the date, time and location of appointments and procedures.
• Follow-up mailings may also be necessary to inform patients of testing protocol and requirements.
